Our standard
We aim for the public website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. The site is currently self-evaluated and has not received independent accessibility certification, so we describe this as a target rather than a formal claim of full conformance.
Measures we take
- Semantic page structure, descriptive titles, landmarks, headings, labels, and link text.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, forms, dialogs, and visible focus indicators.
- Text and controls designed for sufficient contrast, zoom, reflow, and responsive layouts.
- Reduced-motion behavior when your operating system requests it.
- Alternative text for meaningful images and hidden treatment for decorative graphics.
- Clear form instructions, validation messages, and status announcements.
- A focused reading layout with adjustable appearance and persistent reading progress.
Compatibility
The site is designed for current versions of major browsers on desktop and mobile, with standard keyboard navigation and common screen-reader combinations. Core reading content remains available without animation. JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SVG, and WAI-ARIA are used to support the experience.
Known limitations
Third-party retailer, social, and hosted-payment pages are outside our control and may have different accessibility support. Automatically generated or owner-uploaded book-cover artwork may occasionally need improved descriptions. If either creates a barrier, contact us and we will provide the information or an alternate path when reasonably possible.
Assessment and maintenance
The site is assessed through developer review, keyboard checks, responsive visual review, and automated checks during releases. Accessibility is reviewed when adding new templates, interactive features, or third-party services. This statement is reviewed at least annually and after material accessibility changes.
Feedback and assistance
If you cannot access a story, book detail, form, or other feature, please use the contact form and select “General inquiry.” If comfortable, include the page address, what you were trying to do, your browser or assistive technology, and your preferred response format. We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five business days and work toward a reasonable solution.
Questions about this page can be sent through the contact form. Choose “General inquiry” and include the relevant page name.
